German airline company Germania and Danish airline company Danish Air Transport (DAT) started to launch flights from Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport. First flights landed at Gazipaşa-Alanya from Bremen and Copenhagen of Germania and DAT, respectively, welcomed by the officials.
Operated by TAV Airports, Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport started to host flights of German airline company Germania and Danish airline company Danish Air Transport (DAT) from Bremen and Copenhagen, respectively. Following Germania’s first flight arriving from Bremen and landed at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport at 10:25 am by Airbus 320, the first flight of DAT arriving at 12:10 am also by Airbus 320 was welcomed with water arches on the apron. Passengers were then greeted by TAV Gazipaşa and airlines’ officials at a cocktail reception. Launching flights to Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport for the first time, Hamburg flights of Germania will start on June 3rd, while Billund flights of DAT will start on June 30th.
TAV Gazipaşa Chief Operations Officer Cengiz Aşıklı stated: “TAV is aware that increasing the number of direct flights to Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport will contribute to the development of the tourism in the region. Thanks to the promotional and marketing activities held in collaboration with local authorities, representatives of tourism sector and our stakeholders within the industry, we are glad to welcome new airline companies at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport. We are confident that direct flights from Bremen and Hamburg of Germania, and also Copenhagen and Billund of Danish Air Transport will make a significant contribution to the tourism in the region. We will continue working to expand the flight network of Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport and develop tourism.”
To be launching flights between Gazipaşa-Alanya and Bremen on Tuesdays and Thursdays between May 1st and October 25th, Germania will be performing flights from Hamburg on Tuesdays and Fridays between June 3rd and October 28th. On the other hand, DAT will be launching flights between Gazipaşa-Alanya and Copenhagen on Sundays between May 1st and November 6th and also from Billund between June 30th and August 11th on Thursdays.
Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport hosts 13 airline companies launching domestic and international flights to a total of 24 destinations in 9 countries. Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport hosted 6,510 flights in 2015 while providing services to approximately 915,000 passengers.
